change

change

Well, I told you I felt it…  it was there…  and now, we have change!!!

Next Monday, Matt will be starting a new job.  After 18 months of being a stay-at-home dad, he is heading back to work.  We are both excited.  He is ready to be back at work and I am so happy to be letting go of the stress that this has caused me.  It has been a long, rough time for us, so this is a very welcome change.

One change I am NOT ready for, however, is putting the kids back in daycare.  They did great where they were before, but it has been a long time at home now, so trying to sort that aspect out is hard.  I was really sad to walk in and look at a place for them.  We have found somewhere we like, but I am not looking forward to their first day.  We will be able to keep them at home, thanks to some family help, for a few weeks this summer, but they will be heading back soon…  That makes my heart hurt a bit…  I know it will be fine since we have done this before, it has just been so nice to have them at home with a parent.

Anyway, I am sure the winds of change are still blowing, as there is still that feeling in the air, but round one of change has occurred…  just wondering what round 2 will be.

In the year of Awesome, change is bound to happen.

sometimes we feel it…

sometimes we feel it…

we might not see it, but we feel it.

Change.

I feel the winds of change a-blowin’, but I am not sure what they mean.  The little hairs on the back of my neck are up and I am suddenly acutely aware that something is in the air…

I am not sure what it is, if anything, but when my gut talks and the hairs are up, I tend to pay attention.  It might take a while to figure it out, but I usually do.

And, you know what, I am okay with it – a year of Awesome often means a change…

It should be pretty awesome…

a playlist for life…

a playlist for life…

Why is it that every really great movie comes with an equally amazing playlist? My guess is that they pay people a TON of money to create that soundtrack – actually, I know that is exactly what they do.

So, why should the soundtrack of a movie be any more important than the soundtrack of our lives? I don’t think that it is… I think that music has the power to influence us – our moods, our thoughts, our focus, and our hearts. With that in mind, I wanted to create an uplifting and positive playlist for 2010. I wanted one that I can play for my kids, share with my friends, and truly listen to over and over again. Songs that will lift me up when I am down, songs to remind me of my kids when I am out of town, songs that make me dance, and songs that just make me happy. I tried to keep it at normal soundtrack length, but that didn’t happen. I ended up with 26 songs on my long list. I have a shorter version, too, but felt the need for a 2 cd collection – my life is worth that right!?!?!?!

Now – so is yours! Take time and sit down… Create a playlist or soundtrack for your life for 2010. Pick your favorite inspiring songs, songs that make you smile, sing, and embrace life. You want songs that make you feel good – no lost love, sad, sappy stuff here. This is all about feeling good and being the leading man or woman of your own story with the kickin’ music to go with it…

Get to work… Leave a comment of your top song for 2010 and maybe I will have a prize for someone… (hint, hint – I WILL have a prize!)
