We’re baaaaaccckkk…

It is time again for He Crafts, She Crafts with the wonderful and amazing Mark Montano!

This week we are taking on a $0.99 Ikea picture frame!

It is a super simple white frame and we decided it would be fun to see what we could do…

I decided to take it from white to gold with a bit of spray paint.  Once it was dry, I added ribbons, bling, buttons and more with my hot glue gun, to give it a bit more of MY personality!

For the photo inserts, I printed off some Instagram pics and used some fun Echo Park papers to create my photo pages that went into the frame. It is open on both sides so I was able to do something unique for each one.

I love how using a little spray paint and hot glue completed transformed this frame into something new.  You would never know what it was made from if you didn’t know what it was made from – know what I mean?  🙂

Now – here is Mark’s version…

I love that it is this funky black, rocker-Parisian look.  It is sooooo great!  He completely outdid me, once again, on this one!!!

To see how he created this awesome night light, you can check out his blog.

Be sure to leave a comment here and there to be entered into a drawing for a little box of goodies to create your own take on the frame!

  1. I wish we had Ikea’s ! Nearby anyway ! I like the pedestal of that frame. I don’t think I can pick a favorite this time . Yours has those cute little lads in them and Mark’s just strikes a chord with me. Would look great with my daughters homecoming pic in it ! She was in an ivory dress.

  2. I really love the idea of a 2-sided frame, a whole bunch on a table or mantel would be so cool, and then just flip ’em to change up the scene and style! Really cute decorating just the one side too. thanks for the opp to win!

  3. Great idea! Its amazing what a little spray paint can do. Your boys are so cute! I love Mark’s idea of making a night light. I might have to get creative again!

  4. I think both frames came out spectacular and both you and Mark Montano have totally different takes on the same project! The Ikea frame seems to take spray paint well. I wonder how many coats of the paint it took(?). I wish I had that Ikea frame right now to try my hand at it. Great idea and great tutorial! Thanks to you both!

  5. No Ikea here either. This is so darn cute-your guys are adorable. Cannot believe how much difference the gold paint made-makes the whole thing pop.

  6. Cute times 2 or is it times 4… Anyway, love the transformations. Went to IKEA for the first time and would you believe they didn’t have any of these?!
